01 A quick introduction

Part architect.
Part firefighter.
Fourteen years in.

I have spent my career on commerce platforms that other people's revenue runs through.

I started as a Java developer in 2012 and worked up through the stack the slow way — building ATG commerce features, then migrating a monolith into microservices, then owning architecture, then the CI/CD and infrastructure underneath it, then leading the team, and now leading production support for a B2B storefront that cannot be down.

That range shapes how I work. I have shipped the feature, answered the 2am page when it broke, and revisited the design behind it. I bring those lessons into architecture decisions, with attention to how a system will be deployed, supported, and changed.

Today I work on Boeing Distribution's commerce platform. I first wrote code for that same site in 2013, when it belonged to KLX Aerospace. Ten years is a long time to watch how architectural decisions age.
