Leadership / Delivery
Engineering Leadership
Leading the team through the work: design review, estimation, mentoring, and a delivery pipeline people trust.
A team that does not trust its own pipeline will not ship quickly no matter how good the architecture is. Most of what looks like a velocity problem is a confidence problem — nobody is sure what will break, so everything moves slowly and defensively.
The work is design review that catches problems before they are expensive, estimates people can defend to a stakeholder, and enough automation that deploying is boring. Then mentoring, which mostly means letting people reach the root cause themselves rather than escalating past them.
Seven years leading development teams across Oracle ATG and Endeca work, and currently mentoring a production support team.
